Local Advertising Account Executive

The big picture: Axios is a media company dedicated to providing trustworthy, award-winning news content in an audience-first format. We are hiring an Account Executive to join our newest local news initiative, which will extend our mission to America’s hometowns and add to our already amazing work culture. 

Why it matters: The Account Executive will work to develop deep relationships with local business leaders and convert those relationships into long-term advertising partnerships. The AE will help grow Axios Locals’ revenue through a variety of products ranging from native content, email marketing and events. You will act as a brand ambassador for certain Axios Local markets and proactively network across those markets and create new opportunities. You will develop and maintain trusted, strategic relationships with local agencies and client partners.

This is a high-energy role that requires superior communication skills, an ability to understand partner business priorities and develop creative solutions, and a proven ability to generate leads. Ideal candidates will also have the following skills:

• 5+ yrs experience in sales, digital media, consulting, or marketing
• Strong track record in growing existing book of business while also developing new business for local advertising or digital media clients
• Relationships/familiarity with the local/regional advertisers and agencies in their assigned territory and vertical
• Knowledge of digital media, online marketing technology, and Axios’ competitive landscape
• Highly collaborative with a proven track record of forming strong working relationships with colleagues and clients at all levels  
• Willingness to travel and attend social events and engagements during evening hours

This remote position offers a base salary of $65,000 annually, plus a commission structure that rewards performance and provides significant additional earning potential, with on-target earnings (OTE) of up to $130,000.
