Brex's Remote Policy

We are a hybrid environment that combines the energy and connections of being in the office with the benefits and flexibility of working from home. We currently require a minimum of three coordinated days in the office per week, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. As a perk, we also have up to four weeks per year of fully remote work!

Why Brex

Brex rebuilt itself in 2024. In January the company went through a large layoff, flattened its org structure and pulled teams back into in-person hubs. By December it had eliminated the people-manager and org-builder roles, taking out two entire layers of management, and promoted from within across Engineering, Design, Finance, Operations and Legal. In October 2025 the CEO declared the turnaround over.

The culture Brex describes is spelled out in the company's manifesto: "Brex isn't a place to coast." The pace is intense and expectations are high, and Brex points to shipping in crisis mode, including working through the night during the SVB collapse. Leaders stay hands-on ("Our CTO still codes. Our CRO still sells."), and employees get visibility into company-wide decisions, financials and the reasoning behind them.
