Why General Assembly

General Assembly's pitch to staff is simple: "Shape how people think and learn, from junior developers to employees of Fortune 500 companies." Its courses run on campus, online and inside client companies, and it feeds the Adecco Group's career transition and development work through LHH. That puts GA at the point where education turns into employment, which shapes most of the jobs it hires for.

The work splits into two worlds. Corporate teams sell training to organizations and design the curriculum behind it, with learning experience designers building both instructor-led and virtual instructor-led programs. Instructors and instructional associates deliver that curriculum to cohorts in the classroom. Instructors get public recognition: Instructor Appreciation Day is an annual tradition, announced by its chief learning officer, and the #LifeAtGA blog runs a "Humans of GA" series profiling staff from program operations to account leadership.
