By AirAdvisor's own account, the company exists because its founder's family was wrongfully denied boarding on a Lufthansa flight. Anton Radchenko is a licensed US attorney and Fulbright Scholar who studied law at the University of Iowa, and that background shows in the caseload. Beyond routine delay and cancellation claims, AirAdvisor has pursued claims connected to more than 10 airline insolvency and bankruptcy proceedings across Europe, and in 2018 it campaigned against efforts to dilute EU261 passenger rights in Eastern Europe.

Rather than centralising claims work, AirAdvisor has been building a network of locally based lawyers, announcing hires based in Lisbon, Rome and Madrid. As the company puts it, "Having experienced legal professionals on the ground in key jurisdictions like Portugal allows us to manage claims more effectively and represent passengers with the local insight their cases require." The wider team spans more than a dozen countries, and the company is incorporated in the United States.
