MongoDB's Remote Policy
Working Models
MongoDB provides multiple working model options for our employees, including the flexibility to work from home to opportunities for collaboration and social interaction in a MongoDB office. These working models may be dependent on specific roles and are mutually agreed upon by employees and their managers.
In-Office
Our in-office employees have a dedicated desk in a MongoDB office and typically work there three-to-five days per week. Employees may choose to be "in-office" or have a role that requires them to work regularly from a MongoDB office.
Flexible
Our flexible employees typically work from a MongoDB office one-to-two days per week at a shared desk in their given office location. The rest of the time they work remote.
Fully Remote
Our fully remote employees are not required to work from a MongoDB office.
Customer-Facing Remote
Employees who are customer-facing remote work remotely, but may be required to meet with current or potential customers in person.

Why MongoDB
Founded in 2007 by Dwight Merriman, Eliot Horowitz, and Kevin Ryan (originally as 10gen), MongoDB took the document model from research project to NASDAQ listing (MDB) and now powers applications at more than 50% of the Fortune 500. The Atlas platform sits at the center of a growing product surface that includes Vector Search, Stream Processing, Compass, and Charts.
Working models are explicit and per-role: In-Office (three to five days a week with a dedicated desk), Flexible (one to two days at a shared desk), Fully Remote, and Customer-Facing Remote. Active hiring concentrates in New York, Dublin, and Gurugram, with offices across more than 20 countries. The named value of Build Together asks teams to prioritize commitment over consensus and to find ways to collaborate globally rather than treating distance as a reason not to. Sales quota attainment is in the top quartile of software companies, professional development ranks in the 97th percentile, and most employees describe the cadence as fast or extremely fast.
