About Magic
For over 10 years, Magic has connected top remote talent with fast-growing businesses – backed by Y Combinator and Sequoia Capital, with thousands of remote workers worldwide.
Role Overview
This is a full-time, in-house position at Magic – you're not placed as a VA with a client, you're the coach and the partner behind the relationship. You develop the EAs matched to our clients and make sure the partnership works for both sides.
It's a different job than "manager." You're not building a roster of direct reports – you're carrying the full partnership: the client relationship and the humans delivering on it. Part coach, part account partner, no fixed script. Your EAs don't follow you because it's required – they follow because you've built trust, and that's the only authority that holds up on a 2am client call.
When your EAs perform, clients stay. When clients stay, Magic grows.
Shift: training runs overnight (Week 1: Monday–Thursday 8:30 PM–5:30 AM PHT, Friday MEA team orientation; Weeks 2–3: 10:00 PM–7:00 AM PHT), Monday–Friday, with your eventual production shift landing between 6 PM–3 AM, 12 AM–9 AM, or 4 AM–1 PM PHT. Training is strict: zero absences (documented medical emergencies only), max 2 tardies, 70% minimum score with one retake per failed module.
Compensation & Benefits
Earn up to ₱47,000/month, comprising a ₱42,000 fixed monthly package plus a variable performance bonus. Benefits include HMO after 6 months, 12 vacation and 10 sick days per year, 13th month pay, SSS, PhilHealth, PAG-IBIG, company-provided desktop computer and IT support, and paid training.
Application Process
Application + Pre-Qualifying Assessment → Interview with Talent Team (45 min) → 24-Hour Reflection Period → Final Interview with Operations Team → Background Check → Job Offer → 3-Week Training Program
Key Responsibilities
As coach and partner, you'll:
- Coach 15–20 virtual assistants across multiple clients – daily stand-ups, real-time guidance, development plans you actually see through
- Partner with clients on their success – daily video calls with international clients (US, Australia), improving how work gets done, and smoothing team transitions
- Monitor performance across HubSpot, Slack, Discord, Cloudtalk, ChatGPT, Workspace, and Penthouse
- Flag billing questions to the billing team – route them, don't calculate them
- Check in daily through the Account Lead Pulse (ALP)
Qualifications & Technical Requirements
- 2+ years hands-on as a VA or EA with international clients (US/AU preferred)
- 1+ years in client success, B2B relationship management, or team coordination
- Comfortable across 6+ platforms daily – eager to learn new ones, not daunted by them
- Professional written and verbal English
- A track record of finishing demanding programs: bootcamps, certifications, structured training
- Able to commit fully to Magic during training and production – no other VA/EA clients on the side
Why You'll Be a Great Fit
You coach a pipeline of people, not a list of tasks – strong client satisfaction and low escalations, consistently. You catch problems before the client does. The hard conversation happens on time, every time, no stalling. You take feedback and apply it immediately, so your manager never repeats themselves. You push through challenges with grit, not excuses, and step up even when it's technically not your job.
This isn't the role for you if you're currently freelancing as a VA/EA and plan to keep those clients, if you need every instruction spelled out before acting, if you default to "give me a directive and I'll enforce it" instead of leading through influence, or if a wedding, move, or big trip falls inside your training window – the timing has to be right going in.
Why Magic?
We're ambitious, driven, and unapologetically the type to push through obstacles instead of waiting for perfect conditions. Our work dynamic is genuinely different – real conversations, zero politics, no hierarchy standing in your way. You can talk to anyone, on any team, about anything, because we respect each other's time and actually like working together. Y Combinator and Sequoia-backed, thousands of remote workers strong, and growing.
