About Magic
For over 10 years, Magic has connected top remote talent with fast-growing businesses – backed by Y Combinator and Sequoia Capital, with thousands of remote workers worldwide.
Role Overview
This role sits in-house at Magic, full-time – you're not placed with a client as a VA. Your job is coaching: you develop the EAs matched to our clients and keep both sides of that match working.
It's not "manager" in the usual sense. You don't collect direct reports – you hold the whole partnership together, the client relationship and the people delivering on it. Part account lead, part coach, no script to follow. The EAs on your team don't answer to you because of a title; they follow your lead because you've earned the trust, and that's the only authority that survives a 2am client call.
Teams that perform keep their clients. Clients who stay are how Magic grows.
Shift: training runs overnight (Week 1: Monday–Thursday 8:30 PM–5:30 AM PHT, Friday MEA team orientation; Weeks 2–3: 10:00 PM–7:00 AM PHT), Monday–Friday, with your eventual production shift landing between 6 PM–3 AM, 12 AM–9 AM, or 4 AM–1 PM PHT. Training is strict: zero absences (documented medical emergencies only), max 2 tardies, 70% minimum score with one retake per failed module.
Compensation & Benefits
Earn up to ₱47,000/month, comprising a ₱42,000 fixed monthly package plus a variable performance bonus. Benefits include HMO after 6 months, 12 vacation and 10 sick days per year, 13th month pay, SSS, PhilHealth, PAG-IBIG, company-provided desktop computer and IT support, and paid training.
Application Process
Application + Pre-Qualifying Assessment → Interview with Talent Team (45 min) → 24-Hour Reflection Period → Final Interview with Operations Team → Background Check → Job Offer → 3-Week Training Program
Key Responsibilities
Day to day, this role means:
- Coaching a roster of 15–20 virtual assistants spread across multiple clients – daily stand-ups, real-time feedback, development plans you actually follow through on
- Owning the client relationship – daily video calls with international clients (US, Australia), optimizing how the work gets done, handling team transitions without friction
- Tracking performance across HubSpot, Slack, Discord, Cloudtalk, ChatGPT, Workspace, and Penthouse
- Routing billing questions to the billing team – you catch and forward them, not calculate them yourself
- Reporting daily through the Account Lead Pulse (ALP)
Required Skills & Expertise
- 2+ years hands-on as a VA or EA with international clients (US/AU preferred)
- 1+ years doing client success, B2B relationship management, or team coordination
- Daily comfort across 6+ platforms – you're excited to pick up new ones, not rattled by them
- Professional written and spoken English
- Proof you finish what you start: bootcamps, certifications, structured programs completed
- Full availability to Magic during training and production – no other VA/EA clients on the side
Why You'll Be a Great Fit
You manage a pipeline of people, not a checklist of tasks – steady client satisfaction, few escalations, no exceptions. You spot problems before the client ever has to raise them. Hard conversations happen on schedule, every time, no putting them off. Feedback lands once and you've already applied it – your manager never repeats themselves. You push through friction with grit, not excuses, and you pick up what needs doing even when it's technically not yours.
Skip this one if you're still freelancing as a VA/EA and plan to keep those clients, if you need every instruction spelled out before you move, if your default is "tell me what to enforce" instead of leading by influence, or if a wedding, move, or big trip lands inside your training window – the timing needs to be clean going in.
Why Magic?
We push through obstacles instead of waiting around for ideal conditions, and we're not sorry about it. The culture here is genuinely different – real conversations, zero politics, no hierarchy blocking your way. Anyone can talk to anyone about anything, because we respect each other's time and actually enjoy the work together. Backed by Y Combinator and Sequoia, thousands of remote workers deep, and still growing.
