Most of Astronomer's current postings are hybrid, with the number of office days set per role. Examples from its own postings: about 2 days a week in Boston or New York for one Enterprise Account Executive role, 3 days for a Financial Services Enterprise Account Executive, at least 3 days in Hyderabad for a Customer Reliability Engineer, and 4 days for Sales Development Representatives in New York and London. Check each posting for its specific requirement.
Some, set role by role. A smaller share of current postings are remote, such as a Marketing Operations Coordinator role described as a remote position with light travel 3 to 4 times per year, and a Strategic Account Executive role that considers candidates based in the San Francisco Bay Area or Southern California. Remote eligibility is defined in each posting rather than as a company-wide rule.
The careers page lists comprehensive health, dental and vision coverage at little to no cost for employees and competitive rates for families, plus disability and life insurance. It also offers unlimited PTO that it says people actually use, an annual wellness day off with access to discounted fitness and mindfulness programs, equity, professional development support, and parental leave with a return policy for U.S. families and locally aligned policies for the global team.
Yes, many of its postings list pay ranges alongside an equity component. Recent examples include 210,000 to 250,000 US dollars for a Senior Software Engineer, Platform role in the US, 135,000 to 185,000 British pounds for a Staff Software Engineer, Platform Infrastructure role in London, and 100,000 to 115,000 US dollars total compensation for a Sales Development Representative in New York.
Current openings split roughly evenly between engineering (platform infrastructure, observability, core platform and customer reliability) and sales roles such as account executives, sales engineers and sales development representatives. It suits engineers who want to work close to the Airflow open-source project and go-to-market people who sell to data teams, as long as they are comfortable with regular in-office days at hubs such as New York, Boston, London or Hyderabad.
