Fully Remote

Alpaca is a developer-first brokerage infrastructure company. Its APIs let other fintech products offer stock, ETF, options, fixed income, and crypto trading to their own users. Founded in 2015, Alpaca is a self-clearing broker-dealer, which means it handles trade settlement and custody itself rather than routing them to a third party.

Why Alpaca

Alpaca sells brokerage plumbing as an API. Fintech apps, neobanks, and wealth platforms embed Alpaca so their users can trade stocks, ETFs, options, fixed income, and crypto without the platform building settlement and custody itself. Founded in 2015 by Yoshi Yokokawa (CEO) and Hitoshi Harada (CPO), the company began as a machine learning startup before pivoting to brokerage infrastructure.

Alpaca is 100% remote. There is no headquarters anyone reports to, and the company hires without regard to location, so teammates rarely share a full working day. Work is organized around uninterrupted deep work and asynchronous communication rather than a shared calendar. Alpaca is backed by Y Combinator, Spark Capital, and Tribe Capital.
