Boulevard started when cofounders Matt Danna and Sean Stavropoulos spent months working behind front desks at salons to understand the day-to-day pain points of appointment-based businesses. That hands-on research shaped a platform designed specifically for the self-care industry: not a generic scheduling tool repurposed for beauty, but a vertical SaaS product covering booking, payments, client management, and marketing in one system. In 2024, they expanded beyond software with Boulevard Capital, a growth funding product that lets businesses on their platform access capital directly.

The engineering team works across an Elixir backend, React and Next.js frontend, with Golang and Scala in the mix. The culture runs on nine values that skip corporate polish: "Know your sh*t" and "Show up with style" set the tone for a team that takes craft seriously without taking itself too seriously. Boulevard Bucks gives every employee $200 per quarter to experience services at a Boulevard partner business, keeping the team connected to the customers they build for. 56% of the team self-identifies as female, more than double the tech industry average.
