Life Partnerships Fellow (July 2026)
Our mission is to inspire action through thought-provoking stories. We help our readers discover the ideas and the people who are changing business, tech, and beyond. Our team members embody and uphold Business Insider’s three core values: we are all one team, we are effective, and we strive to get better every day.
The Business Insider Fellowship Program is for early-career journalists who want to spend six months learning from a newsroom full of passionate, dedicated journalists. Fellows are assigned to teams and become experts in digital storytelling. They produce real work that is distributed to our audience of millions, and by the end of six months, they are prepared for the next phase of their journalism careers. This role requires you to work for 40 hours a week. We ask that fellows come into our New York City or San Francisco office two to three times a week.
The Role & Team: As a fellow on the Life team, you will create general-interest slideshows and posts across topics including food, retail, travel, real estate, science, and more.
You will keep an eye on what’s trending to produce timely stories; you will think critically about analytics to brainstorm new story ideas; and you will be encouraged to pitch original stories and experiences you can write about.
The ideal candidate is excited to produce stories that could vary from a slideshow about a record-breaking mansion for sale to a list comparing states to reviews of food and transportation to quick profiles on wealthy individuals.
You will be part of the Editorial Partnerships team, whose goal is to pitch and write stories that resonate with audiences across our partner sites, which include MSN, Yahoo, and Apple News. This role reports directly to the editor of Editorial Partnerships and sits on the lifestyle team.
Business Insider is a flexible workplace when it comes to remote work, but an important part of the fellowship is being a part of the newsroom in person for learning opportunities. Fellows are asked to come into our offices in New York City/London/LA / San Francisco at least two days a week.
Please apply with a resume and cover letter and specify why you're interested in working on this team. If you’d like some tips, check out our best practices guide.
Business Insider is committed to providing equal employment opportunities and, when making employment decisions, does not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity or expression, sex, sexual orientation, age, nationality or national origin, religion, disability, familial status, and military or veteran status. We encourage members of traditionally underrepresented groups to apply.
Are you passionate about this opportunity, but worried that you don’t have 100% of the experience we’re looking for? We still want to hear from you! Apply online and let us know why you would make a great addition to Business Insider.
