The process runs about three weeks from application to offer and is the same four stages for every candidate: a 30-minute preliminary screen with a recruiter, a 60-minute role-specific technical screening, a take-home assessment benchmarked to around two hours, and a final panel of 90 minutes to two hours with several team members. Engineering roles get a security-vulnerability code challenge for the take-home, though a strong existing work sample can substitute. All interviews are held on Google Meet.
Health insurance comes with no monthly premiums, alongside vision, dental, and life and disability coverage, plus Kindbody for gynecology and fertility care. Time off includes four weeks of PTO, 15 company holidays, and four months of paid parental leave. The company also offers a 401(k) with a 5% match and a work-from-home stipend.
Engineers whose work is meant to be seen. Trail of Bits backs visible output with end-of-year performance bonuses plus additional bonuses for continuing education, public presentations, and blog posts.
