Why Fleetio

Fleetio's engineering philosophy names nine tenets, each with a short definition: Momentum, Ownership, Product First, Knowledge, Remote Friendly, Default To Action, Work-Life Balance, Data-Driven and Celebration. Momentum means aligning teams, tools and process to "deploy top notch value multiple times a day." Product First asks engineers to care "about the product as a whole" rather than single features, and Default To Action rests on the belief that "indecision is the worst decision." The same page lays out the whole engineering interview process, including a small take-home coding project that Fleetio pays candidates to complete.

Engineers work in Ruby on Rails, React, TypeScript and PostgreSQL, and build native iOS and Android apps. Company-wide values are Intelligence, Intensity, Integrity and Ownership. Beyond the product, Fleetio runs an industry scholarship, the ASE Scholarship Program, and a nomination-based giving program called the Jump Start Initiative, and sponsors Birmingham-area and tech events. It has also acquired Auto Integrate, which keeps its own brand.
