Our Team Members:
We're a dynamic team of 400+ globally distributed members who thrive working from our favorite places around the world, with teammates spanning the USA, Canada, Japan, Hungary, Nigeria, Brazil, the UK, and beyond!
We're searching for passionate individuals eager to contribute to Alpaca's rapid growth. If you align with our core values—Stay Curious, Have Empathy, and Be Accountable—and are ready to make a significant impact, we encourage you to apply.
As a Full Stack Engineer on the Platform Team, you will develop and operate Alpaca’s authentication, authorization, and Identity Provider (IdP) systems - the systems that handle user login, access control, and secure access across our APIs, customer products, and internal tools.
We are looking for experienced engineers who are comfortable owning services end to end: API design, data modeling, deployments, and production debugging. Most of your time will be spent writing Go (backend services, gRPC/REST APIs, shared client libraries), with meaningful work in React/TypeScript for auth-related UI, and occasionally Java for identity-provider extensions. You will also work with Helm charts, analyze logs and metrics, manage deployments, and help other teams to integrate with our services.
Alpaca is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace dedicated to pursuing and hiring a diverse workforce.

Work From Anywhere
Yes. Alpaca is a 100% remote company with 380+ team members distributed worldwide, including the USA, Canada, Japan, Hungary, Nigeria, Brazil, and the UK. Roles are posted by region such as Americas, EMEA, APAC, or North America, and some open positions can be worked from anywhere globally.
Alpaca leans on asynchronous communication and uninterrupted deep work so a globally distributed team can collaborate across nearly every time zone. Most roles hire across a broad region, though some postings specify a working-hours overlap, for example Eastern or European time zones, when a function needs closer coordination.
Alpaca offers a competitive salary plus stock options, giving employees an ownership stake in the company. It also provides a 401(k) plan, though the company does not match contributions.
Employees receive four weeks of PTO plus three personal days each year.
Alpaca pays for health coverage for employees and their children, with reasonable options to add a spouse or family. The healthcare package includes medical, dental, and vision.
Alpaca hires engineers, traders, and brokerage professionals who want to build financial infrastructure that opens investing to everyone. The team values curiosity, empathy, and accountability, and it maintains a strong commitment to open-source contributions and community.
