Contract Legal Assistant
Hi! I’m Dessa, General Counsel here at Customer.io, and I’m looking for an amazing Legal Assistant contractor to join our small, but mighty Legal team. We’re excited to have the opportunity to add you to the team and teach you the ins-and-outs of a small legal department.
Customer.io’s Legal team is seeking a highly motivated Legal Assistant contractor to join our growing and innovative legal team. Reporting to the General Counsel, this role offers a unique opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience in a fast-paced SaaS environment. You’ll work closely with the General Counsel, Legal Ops Manager, and Paralegal, contributing to a wide range of projects that support the company’s legal, compliance, and operational initiatives.
As a Legal Assistant contractor, you will tackle projects that directly support Legal’s goals—such as contract management, legal operations, and privacy compliance—while collaborating with cross-functional teams, honing your technical skills, and receiving mentorship.
You’ll gain hands-on experience with contract lifecycle management tools like LinkSquares, support privacy and security assessments, and develop strong organizational and communication skills. You’ll also learn best practices in legal operations, contract negotiations, and remote collaboration within a fast-paced SaaS environment.
All final candidates will be asked to complete a background check and employment verifications as part of our pre-employment process.
Customer.io recognizes the stifling impact of systemic injustice on diverse communities. We commit to using our influence to increase inclusion and equity within the tech industry. We strive to build an inclusive team culture, implement bias-free hiring practices, and develop community partnerships to expand our global impact.
Zoom is the only video conference platform that we use, virtual interviews will be conducted using the video capability (i.e., not via the chat), and offers will be extended in writing on official Customer.io letterhead. Please be vigilant in all of your job search activity, and if you have any questions please contact jobs@customer.io.
We believe in empathy, transparency, responsibility, and, yes, a little awkwardness. If you’re excited by what you read and want to build software that makes communication better for everyone—apply now.

No. Customer.io uses location-independent pay: a given role carries the same USD range whether it is posted for the Americas or EMEA, with no cost-of-living tiering or location multiplier. Every open role publishes its salary range directly on the posting.
Customer.io is fully remote, with no office requirement for any role. Openings are posted as either Americas Remote or EMEA Remote, and the postings that spell out eligibility name the USA, Canada, the UK, and Ireland. Check the region label on the specific role you are applying to.
Customer.io runs a stated async operating model, which it describes as prioritizing thoughtful communication and reducing unnecessary meetings. It has established collaboration hours across time zones, so expect async-first work with a window of overlap rather than a fully meeting-free schedule.
PTO is unlimited, with a recommended minimum of 20 vacation days a year, and paid holidays and sick days sit outside that policy. Longer leave is spelled out as well: 16 weeks of paid parental leave for birth, adoption, or foster care, six weeks of paid family medical leave, and a month of paid sabbatical after five years.
New hires receive up to $1,500 USD to set up a home office, followed by a $250 USD monthly remote work stipend covering internet, cell phone plans, and other remote work costs. Employees who would rather not work from home can claim up to $300 USD monthly for coworking space.
