As Head of Product, Growth & Monetization, you'll be directly accountable for both sides of that story: the core funnel that turns a signup into a paying customer, and the in-app motion that turns a paying customer into an expanding one.

All roles at Help Scout are fully remote. Some positions have specific location requirements. For roles outside the U.S. and Canada, we work with teammates as independent contractors under country-specific agreements.

Teammates in the US and Canada are hired as employees and get health, dental, and vision cover, life and disability insurance, and a retirement match. Outside those two countries, Help Scout engages teammates as independent contractors under country-specific agreements: it starts from the same local salary benchmark it uses for employee roles, then adds an uplift meant to cover the health care, paid time off, and retirement planning a contractor manages themselves. Pay is delivered in your local currency either way.
Everyone is paid on a formula that is public to employees and built for fairness. Pay is location-based, tied to where you live, with US salaries benchmarked to technology companies in the Boston metro (and international roles benchmarked to major metros in the corresponding country) using Pave and Mercer data. Help Scout targets the 75th percentile of a role's salary range and says it pays above market for customer support roles.
Help Scout runs a seven-step process: a video call with the hiring manager, a call with a potential teammate, a call with People Ops covering salary expectations, benefits, and culture, a paid take-home project, a final video call usually with someone from the leadership team, three references with at least two previous managers preferred, and then an offer. The take-home is capped at six hours and everyone who completes one is paid for their time. Interviewers complete in-house training before they interview anyone, the same structured question set is used at each stage, and every applicant gets a response either way. Candidates are asked not to use AI assistants live during interviews.
A paid sabbatical after every four years, twelve weeks of fully paid parental leave for every new parent with no primary-or-secondary distinction and adoption and foster placements included, and stock options granted on a public formula that gives every employee the chance to become a shareholder. Help Scout also closes company-wide for two full weeks a year on top of each person's own time off, brings the whole company together for an annual retreat, and helps fund a home office, a co-working space, and professional development.
Help Scout has published its workforce demographics publicly every year since 2017, recruits from under-represented groups to balance its hiring pool, and works to reduce unconscious bias in hiring. It funds two employee resource groups, one for women and one for BIPOC teammates, each with a leader stipend and an events budget. Growth runs on parallel individual-contributor and management tracks with published levels, a career framework maintained for every team, performance reviews twice a year with company-wide calibration, and a learning stipend that opens up after six months and covers courses, conferences and travel, seminars, books, coaching, or time off to study.
