Ahrefs has two offices, in Singapore and Palo Alto, and its teams are distributed across many countries. A lot of roles are anchored to a specific hub or market rather than open to any location, so it is worth checking where each posting is based before applying.
Beyond the annual visit to the Singapore HQ, remote staff get a generous equipment budget to set up a home office with up-to-date gear, a budget to attend conferences and seminars, a yearly company retreat (a ski trip), and a flexible, generous PTO policy.
After a recruiter screen, candidates complete a take-home task, then sit an unstructured technical interview. Ahrefs is explicit that there is "no LeetCode, coding puzzles, or whiteboard," and it does not work with third-party recruiting agencies, so you apply directly.
Engineers who want depth and ownership. With small teams and no product manager layer, individuals shape both the problem and the solution, and the work rewards comfort with functional and systems programming. People who prefer heavy process and narrow scope may find it less comfortable.
Job description pages do not list salary bands. The company describes its compensation package as competitive, and the online application may surface a range depending on your jurisdiction.
