Camunda is going through the AI-First transformation, and we are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Engineering Operations Team. As part of this high-impact platform team, you will play a key role in fostering engineering excellence by creating, implementing and maintaining scalable core processes to enhance development efficiency, reliability, and quality within the Camunda 8 code bases, as well as the Engineering-wide organization processes.
As Camunda 8 evolves into the leader of the agentic orchestration market, your mission is to ensure our internal development lifecycle is just as autonomous and gets us there in a frictionless manner. You will work with infrastructure and core software engineering teams to ensure smooth workflows, robust dependency management, and continuous improvement of CI processes in the era of AI-first development; enabling the Camunda 8 engineering teams to focus better on the core product development.
Strong Software Engineering experience with a track record of delivering results (preferably, in Java)
Specialization: Fullstack or Backend
You thrive in taking ownership of the codebase, as well as how you deploy and operate software. You are comfortable with the “you build it, you run it” mindset.

Camunda's salary ranges are location-based, split into Standard markets and Major markets (global tech hubs) to reflect local competition. Posted ranges show Annual Total Target Cash, meaning base salary plus the full variable target for roles that carry one, running from the Standard-market minimum to the Major-market maximum. Camunda says it typically hires in the first half of the range to leave room for growth, and it offers equity where applicable through a virtual stock option plan.
