Publitas builds the discovery commerce platform retailers use to turn catalogs and promotional leaflets into shoppable online experiences. Its pitch is that roughly half of online shoppers browse and get inspired rather than search and check out, and that a standard storefront isn't built for them.

Publitas's Remote Policy

Publitas describes itself as a fully remote team, with location independence presented as the default rather than an accommodation.

Work from anywhere

Travel the globe or simply work from your trusty sofa. You can connect remotely, work asynchronously, and be fully location independent.

Two company-wide conditions sit alongside that.

Core hours

If you are based in a timezone significantly different from the rest of the team, we will work with you to find a schedule that works best for you. However, we require employees to work at least 4 hours daily during the company's core hours.

Work authorization

At Publitas, we do not currently offer visa sponsorship or relocation support for candidates who require employer-sponsored work authorization.

Pay Transparency

Publitas publishes how it sets pay: your role and responsibilities, the market value of the role, relative experience and skills, and the cost-of-living and rent index of your location. Bands are geo-bracketed, and some job ads list a euro range.

Performance Bonus

Some roles, such as sales, carry a variable compensation plan. It is not a company-wide bonus.

Flexible Schedule

Publitas works about 80% asynchronously on Notion and Slack, and says it does not monitor screens or count hours. Meeting Free Fridays keep Fridays clear for focused work. At least 4 hours of each day overlap company core hours.

PTO / Vacation

25 paid vacation days a year under a "no ask, must tell" policy: no permission needed to book time off unless you take more than 15 consecutive working days, or more than 25 days in one year.

Paid Holidays

National holidays in your country of residence, on top of the 25 vacation days.

Sick Days

Sick days are paid, with no set allocation. An illness lasting a week or longer is worked out with the team.

Publitas describes the job as fully location independent, with a team spread across 20+ countries. Two limits apply: employees work at least 4 hours daily during company core hours, and some roles require legal EU residency.

Why Publitas

The idea started in a pub in 2006, when Publitas' CEO, Guillermo Sanchez, tired of carrying trade magazines for his Deloitte consultancy work, decided to put them online. Retailers and brands proved a better fit than trade magazines, prompting a 2012 pivot. Publitas remained fully bootstrapped as it grew from a three-person operation into a portfolio that includes WePublish, Folders.nl, PromoButler.be, and Spott alongside its core discovery commerce platform.

Day to day, the team works mostly asynchronously through Notion and Slack. Its public Values & Habits manifesto is backed by eight named operating principles, including "Candor with Care", "Impact with Intention", and "Embracing the Uncomfortable". Team members set the agenda for regular 1-1 or 2-1 development sessions, with notes kept in an Asana task.
