From Fivetran’s founding until now, our mission has remained the same: to make access to data as simple and reliable as electricity. With Fivetran, customer data arrives in their warehouses, canonical and ready to query, with no engineering or maintenance required. We’re proud that more organizations continue to leverage our technology every day to become truly data-driven.
Fivetran's mission is to make access to data as simple and reliable as electricity — with dbt Labs now part of Fivetran, that mission extends from moving data into the warehouse to transforming and modeling it for trusted, governed analytics.
We're looking for a Sales Engineer to join our Enterprise sales team. In this role, you'll work closely with Sales to understand Enterprise customers' complex data requirements — spanning ingestion, transformation, and data modeling — and demonstrate how the combined Fivetran + dbt platform helps them build reliable, end-to-end data pipelines. You'll own technical evaluations across the full data lifecycle: from replicating data into the warehouse to transforming it into governed, analytics-ready models with dbt Cloud.
AWS, GCP, Azure, Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Kafka, Grafana, Linux, Windows, Python, Java, Iceberg, dbt Cloud, SQL, data catalogs
- Work with Enterprise customers to understand their business, use cases, and requirements across data replication, transformation, and modeling
- Develop and deliver technical presentations to Enterprise audiences on the full Fivetran + dbt value proposition
- Ensure the technical win by running a tight proof-of-value process spanning ingestion through transformation
- Guide customers through dbt Cloud proof-of-concept implementations, including private-cloud deployments for enterprise clients where applicable
- Work closely with Product and Engineering to align solutions with Enterprise customer needs and inform the dbt Cloud enterprise roadmap
- Develop and maintain relationships with key Enterprise customers and partners (including Snowflake, AWS, Databricks)
- Own the technical relationship across the full customer lifecycle — pre-sale evaluation through adoption and expansion
- Stay current on trends in data movement, transformation, and analytics engineering; be an active participant in the dbt community
- 7+ years in data replication, sales engineering, solutions architecture, or consulting in data operations, analytics, or BI
- Strong technical background covering database replication, cloud infrastructure, and modern data warehousing architectures
- Hands-on experience with SQL, ETL/ELT, and data modeling
- Experience with modern data analytics technologies, including cloud data warehouses/lakes, transformation tooling (dbt or similar), data catalogs, and BI tools
- Ability to gather and translate technical and business requirements into concrete solutions
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-paced environments
- Prior experience at an analytics, ETL, BI, or open-source software company
- Hands-on experience with dbt Cloud or dbt Core
- Experience with data modeling methodologies (dimensional, data vault, Kimball, 3NF)
- Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or traditional Enterprise ETL tooling (Informatica, Boomi, Talend)
- Experience with self-hosted software applications and supporting infrastructure
- Hands-on networking experience, cloud and on-premise

Most open roles are attached to an office and follow the hybrid schedule; a minority are posted as fully remote. Remote roles in the US are scoped to named states rather than blanket US-remote, with exactly one posting open to any US location. Remote roles outside the US are scoped to a single named country, such as Australia, Germany, Ireland, Japan, the United Kingdom, or Costa Rica.
Pay ranges are published in US and Canada postings only. Roles in Europe and Asia Pacific carry no published band. Fivetran states that its ranges are determined by role, level, and location, and that individual pay also reflects skills, experience, and market demand. Some roles add a separate on-target earnings figure for incentive pay.
Restricted stock units are provided to all new hires, with refresh grants annually. The careers page also lists paid parental leave starting on your first day plus a baby cash incentive, two volunteer days off per year, free lunches, home office reimbursement, and a monthly cell phone stipend. Vacation, holiday, and sick time are described only as tailored to your location, with no day count published.
Yes, and Fivetran documents it. The company publishes a 2026 Benefits Overview for each of twelve markets, covering Australia, Canada, Germany, India, Ireland, Japan, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Serbia, Singapore, the UK, and the US, and links the full set from every job posting. Postings also note that employer-paid medical insurance and stock grants may vary by country and worker type. Health and retirement programs are offered to all full-time employees based on their location.
Fivetran and dbt Labs have completed a merger, and some postings carry dbt-origin location labels for Austin, New York, and Philadelphia, cities that are not on Fivetran's own office list. Wording in those dbt-origin postings can reflect dbt's earlier policies rather than Fivetran's, so treat the office expectation stated on the careers page as the current model and confirm the cadence for any specific role with the recruiter.
The careers page lists fifteen hiring departments. Alongside a dedicated Fivetran AI group, they include Engineering, Systems Engineering, Product, Business Intelligence, Customer Solutions Group, Customer Support, Sales, Alliances, Marketing, Strategy, Strategy and Operations, Finance, Legal, and HR.
